COUNSELLING/PSYCHOTHERAPY

Some people have experienced trauma in their life and may be living with negative and debilitating thoughts and emotions. Some people feel anxious or depressed, or feel disconnected from friends, family, or career. Others sometimes describe a lack of purpose in life and a lack of enjoyment in everyday life. There are many reasons people come to a therapist and there is no limit to what can be discussed in therapy. Therapy is about you, it is about being heard, understood, and valued when you speak. We do not offer solutions to your issues; we do not know if we would be the right therapist for you. We do not bombard you with a list of qualifications, nor do we explain in detail our core training.

Benefits of Counselling/Psychotherapy

Having someone to talk with and confide in, who is there specifically to listen and help you work through issues, is invaluable. Many people feel more comfortable talking to a trained professional therapist who is not connected with their life and is therefore able to listen without judgement or bias. Dedicating time to yourself to help address issues that affect your life is beneficial, as it will give you the time and space you need to work things out.

HYPOTHERAPY

There are many misconceptions around Hypnotherapy, people tend to believe that they are placed in a vulnerable situation and may be made to do silly things that they have no recollection over later, this is only true in stage shows. Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses suggestion to encourage positive change in a person, it is a method of communicating with your sub-conscious mind (the boss) which bypasses the conscious mind (the bodyguard). Using guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness, (this is also referred to as being in Trance), a naturally occurring state, where everything around is blocked out or temporarily ignored.

*Don’t use hypnotherapy if you have psychosis or certain types of personality disorder, as it could make your condition worse.
